Memorial requests

Gifts: 

1. Materials: If one has materials that would enhance the library’s collections that person should contact the Director. Due to space constraints and processing resources, the library is unable to accept all items offered. The library reserves the right to dispose of all unsolicited materials in any manner it deems appropriate. 

Gifts of materials that are accepted become the property of the library and cannot be returned to the donor for any reason. Once the library takes possession of an item, the library is free to make all decisions in accordance with the established policies as to its use. 

2. Monetary donations: Memorial donations made in honor of a deceased loved one results in a memorial placard in a new book. Unless otherwise specified, donations go toward items or projects of the Director’s choosing. 

3. Bequests: Bequests may designate the Library as a beneficiary in the following areas:

  • Financial Accounts

  • Life Insurance

  • Retirement Plans

To designate the Forest-Jackson Public Library as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, insurance, or a bank or brokerage account, please note the Library’s full legal name, address, and Federal Tax ID number as:

Naming the Library in a Will or Codicil:

Charitable bequests to the Forest-Jackson Public Library helps the Library continue to meet its mission of stimulating scholarship and advancing knowledge by providing access to all varieties of materials. Including the Forest-Jackson Public Library in an estate plan is as simple as consulting with an attorney or other financial advisor to make sure that the bequest chosen works as part of the estate plan. 

If a Will or Living Trust is already in place, the Library may be added as a beneficiary through a Codicil or trust amendment. Bequests to the Library are not subject to estate tax.
